A half hour round trip to the county boundary and back. Passing through the mining history of the area. You can choose to get off at Glengonnar and walk into Wanlockhead (approx 10 mins), if you do then please let the guard know which train you wish to take back.
The Lead mining museum is located in Wanlockhead. Please see their website for details of opening times.

Accessibility
We have one wheelchair accessible carriage, that can accommodate up to 4 standard wheelchairs. Access is only at Leadhills station.
We apologies that Glengonnar is not suitable for wheelchair access, nor is it possible to get to Wanlockhead village from Glengonnar station in a wheelchair.
